MEC LEHARI TO LED PROVINCIAL AFRICAN TRADITIONAL MEDICINES DAY COMMEMORATIONS

The North West Department of Health led by MEC Sello Lehari will commemorate the Provincial African Traditional Medicines Day event under the theme “Reflection on Research and Development Efforts of Traditional Medicine Towards Achieving Universal Health Coverage in the African Region”. The theme highlights the urgent need to scientifically validate, regulate, and integrate indigenous remedies into mainstream healthcare to make medical services accessible and affordable for all. MEC Lehari will be joined by the Chairperson of the Provincial Traditional Health Practitioners Mr Kenneth Mogoeng, Mayor of Greater Taung Local Municipality Cllr Itumeleng Maribe as well as over 250 tradtional health practitioners. The event will further incorporate departmental heritage day celebrations which will be observed under the theme “Celebrating our living heritage:Strengthening the ties that bind us”.
