"It's a great pleasure to us that revitalization project has kick started .We hope its completion will address our accommodation, teaching and learning space needs that have been with us for years," said delighted Mokolobate.

In his 2015/16 budget speech, MEC for Health Dr Mgome Masike said there was a need to upgrade and refurbish these nursing campuses.

"We promised residents of Bokone Bophirima last year that we are going to upgrade these institutions. I am glad that the work has started, and I want to assure our communities that we are not only concentrating on improving the physical structure of these important institutions, but we are also focusing on improving the quality of education and training and the tools the students are using to facilitate easy learning.

"The upgrades at these two facilities gives our children the best possible opportunities to really dive into their educational growth and I believe it will have a lasting impact on students here today and those who follow in the decades to come," concluded MEC Masike.

North West College of Nursing is the only government nursing college in the province with two campuses in Mahikeng and Klerksdorp tasked with training and producing nurses for the public health facilities.
