MEC SAMBATHA TO MARK INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY IN KLERKSDORP. Featured

The North West Health MEC Madoda Sambatha will together with the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) lead the International Nurses Day celebrations on Thursday, 12 May 2022 in Klerksdorp.

International Nurses Day is an annual global celebration that acknowledges and celebrates the commitment and bravery of nursing professionals who form part the backbone of our health system as also demonstrated during the pick of the COVID-19. The day also marks the anniversary of the founder of modern day nursing, Florence Nightingale's birthday.

The celebration will also honour the nurses for their role in the fight against COVID-19 and the vaccination rollout.

This year’s celebrations will be held under the theme “Nurses: A voice to lead. Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health”.
